Part of a Global Restoration Initiative

The Ecosystem Restoration Integrated Program (ERIP) is a global initiative funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF-8) that promotes large-scale ecosystem restoration across 20 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. With an investment of approximately US$200 million, the program seeks to restore millions of hectares of degraded land, strengthen climate resilience and improve livelihoods.

In Brasil, ERIP supports implementation of the National Policy for Native Vegetation Recovery (PROVEG) and its primary implementation instrument, PLANAVEG, which guides efforts to restore 12 million hectares by 2030.
